Hi, I’m Dennelle:

a mom, a traveler, and someone who has spent her career keeping people safe.

I began as a Child Protection Specialist with New York City's Administration for Children's Services, working directly with children and families. Today I work in trust and safety, focused on generative AI safety. I hold a Master of Social Work from Columbia University and an ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity credential. My whole career comes down to one question: how do we protect kids in the world they're actually growing up in?

Where Asher and Momuzi came from

Asher and Momuzi are real. Asher is my son, and Momuzi is our fluffy cream Maltipoo. These books grew out of our travels together, starting in Tokyo. Along the way I watched my son do what every kid does now: ask AI questions, trust what screens tell him, and figure out the digital world in real time.

So I gave him a sidekick. In the books, Momuzi's nose glows electric blue when something isn't right. He never says a word. He doesn't have to. Momuzi is the gut feeling every child has, the instinct we want kids to learn to trust.

For kids, it's an adventure. For parents, it's a conversation starter.

Each book takes Asher and Momuzi to a new country and quietly teaches one digital safety lesson. Kids get the adventure. Grown-ups reading along pick up real concepts, like why AI can sound confident and still be wrong, so you can keep the conversation going long after bedtime.

How this book was made: with a human in the loop

This is my story. The travels, the moments, and the lessons are ours. AI didn't write this book. I did.

I did use AI as a tool at every stage: to edit, check reading level, fact-check, create the watercolor illustrations, and teach myself how to design and publish a book. But at every step, a human made the call. I reviewed everything, rejected what was wrong, and rewrote what didn't sound like us.

That's exactly what Asher learns in Tokyo. AI can be incredibly helpful, and it can still get things wrong. So you check. You ask a trusted grown-up. You listen to your instincts. I wrote the book the same way I'm teaching my son to use technology: not by avoiding AI, but by using it wisely.

Thank you for bringing Asher and Momuzi into your home. Where to next?
